Project Background

A Chilean wholesale distributor ordered 1,800 sets of 3D welded mesh fences with matching square posts for a major expressway project. The national road authority required a durable perimeter system to prevent pedestrian and wildlife entry, reduce accident risks, and define the highway boundary.

The expressway crosses coastal areas with salt-laden winds and inland zones with strong UV exposure. The fencing therefore needed to be corrosion-resistant, easy to install over long distances, visually compatible with the landscape, compliant with Chilean construction standards, and reliable with minimal maintenance.

Product Specifications

Each of the 1,800 sets comprised the following precisely engineered components:

Fence Panels (2.03 m × 2.50 m)

  • 5.5 mm wire for high strength and impact resistance
  • 50 × 200 mm mesh openings to restrict small animals while preserving driver visibility
  • Four 3D bending lines for greater rigidity and dimensional stability than flat panels
  • Optional sharpened top edges for anti-climb protection
  • Fully welded intersections to prevent wire movement

Support Posts (Buried Installation)

  • 50 × 50 mm square steel tube
  • 2.0 mm wall thickness
  • 2.6 m length with approximately 600 mm embedment
  • Supplied with clips or brackets for secure panel installation

Surface Treatment

  • Green RAL 6005 powder coating
  • 1.3 mm coating thickness for corrosion resistance, UV protection, and long-term colour retention
Quality Control

Strict quality inspection was implemented at each stage to meet Chilean infrastructure standards.

  • Raw Material Check: Verified 5.5 mm wire, 50 × 200 mm mesh openings, and 50 × 50 × 2.0 mm posts.
  • Weld & Bend Testing: Random samples passed weld shear tests; four bending lines were checked within ±1° for consistent rigidity.
  • Dimensional Inspection: Panel size, mesh spacing, post length, and clip-hole alignment were verified by batch.
  • Coating Inspection: Cross-hatch adhesion was tested, and RAL 6005 colour was confirmed under natural and artificial light.
  • Pre-shipment Audit: Panel-to-post assembly and protective pallet packaging were inspected before ocean transport.
